Louis Riel (born October 22, 1844) was a Métis leader. He was born in the Red River settlement to a businessman/ political leader, Louis Riel Sr. Louis was a standout student, heading to Sulpician school, on a scholarship, in Montreal at the age of thirteen. He studied there and soon fell in love with Marie-Julie Guernon; they got engaged but the engagement was soon broken after her parents found out that he was a “half-breed”. With a broken heart, and new knowledge he headed back to the Red River Valley.
On May 20, 1885, Louis Riel was hung by the order of John A Macdonald for high treason. He was arrested when he ordered a military resistance that became a military confederation called the North-west Rebellion. This was when Ottawa sent thousands of Combat soldiers on their new railway to fight against Louis Riel’s military resistance, he had later been arrested and convicted. Louis David Riel was born on October 22, 1844, in Red River colony, Rupert's Land, British North America. This is near what we now call Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

Most people would say that a hero is somebody that has super powers and wears a costume. Heroes don't have to be over powered beings; they can be regular humans. A hero can be anybody that takes risks shows courage, shows bravery and helps people in need. Heroes have a positive effect on the world. Usually, heroes "fight" against issues that affect them personally.
In my opinion, Louis Riel was a hero. I think this because he showed the qualities of a true hero, such as understanding his people, being brave enough to fight for them, and being a leader. He understood his people, by becoming their fiery spokesperson, and showed the government everything that the Métis wanted to say. With his people in mind, he created the National Committee of the Métis, in hopes to protect their lands. He also provided a Provisional Government( temporary) for the Métis.
There are many events prior to the 1900s that could be construed as turning points in American history. Columbus’s discovery of America in the 1490s and the American Revolution from 1770 to 1779, for instance, are quite important in this way. However, the Industrial Revolution was a far more significant turning point. The American Industrial Revolution began around 1790 when Samuel Slater was inspired by British industrial success and brought the idea to the United States. Once it began, the Industrial Revolution did not just bring success.
The first thing that comes to mind when hearing the word 'hero ', is comic books, avengers, justice league, super villains etc. Physically, they are usually tall, big, and super strong. On the mental side, they are described as someone who is brave, courageous, determined and are willing to help others and even risk their lives by taking sacrifices. All in all, a hero as seen by many, is portrayed as someone who represents the best qualities of ourselves. However, for someone to be considered a hero, they don 't necessarily need to have all of these qualities as described above.
