Dr. Williams, the son of a barber, was a free African American born during the 1800s to Daniel Hale Williams II and Sarah Williams. Dr. Williams’ family was heavily impacted by the ongoing history at the time. Furthermore, Dr. Williams’ ancestors were slaves. Daniel’s ancestors on both sides were a mixture of European, Native American, and African American.
A colonizer and statesman, Manuel Lorenzo Justiniano de Zavala was one of the most talented and capable of the many native Mexicans involved in Texas ' struggle for independence from Mexico. He was born in the villiage of Tecoh in what is now the state of Yucatan, Mexico, on October 3, 1789. While still in his teens, de Zavala became an ardent advocate of democratic reforms. As a result of his political activism, he was imprisoned in 1814 for three years. When released, he re-entered politics and by 1820 represented Yucatan in the Spanish Cortes in Madrid.

His father Jean-Baptiste-Moise St Laurent was a Québecois who owned a general store and his mother Mary Anne Broderick was an Irish schoolteacher. . Louis St Laurent was the first of seven children. The scholars started to measure the Sphinx and made copies of the hieroglyphs there were finding and then Napoleon evaded the British blockade in 1799. The French army stayed in Egypt and so did the scholars and then they received a package with a rock slab in it and there was a note from a french army officer. The note said that they found it during when they were rebuilding a fort and the french soldiers found it when tearing down a wall. The stone had missing pieces so the french soldiers tried to find the missing pieces behind other walls and didn't find them.
Henri Cartier Bresson was a French humanist photographer known for his street photography and ability to create candid photos of people. Bresson was a person who viewed photography not just as an art, but as a psychological analysis of culture and people. While walking the streets of different areas of the world, he became immensely curious about how people view reality and decided to capture, “the true moments of human existence”. His photographs captured the in between moments, showing the true reality of the way people live. Blaise Pascal was born on June 19, 1623 in Clermont-Ferrand, France. He was the third child and only son to Etienne and Antoinette Pascal. His mother passed away when he was just three years old. Since Etienne Pascal had unorthodox views, he decided to teach his son himself. Pascal did not study mathematics before he was fifteen years old, but when he was twelve he secretly started to work on geometry.
Napoleon decided that France’s naval forces were not yet ready to go up against the British Royal Navy. So instead, he proposed an invasion of Egypt in an attempt to wipe out British trade routes with India. Napoleon’s troops gained a victory against Egypt’s military rulers (the Mamluks) at the Battle of the Pyramids in July 1798; soon, however, his forces were stranded after his naval fleet was nearly decimated by the British at the Battle of the Nile in August 1798. In early 1799, Napoleon’s army launched an invasion of Ottoman-ruled Syria, which ended with the failed siege of Acre, located in modern-day Israel. That summer, with the uncertain political situation in France, the ever-ambitious Napoleon opted to abandon his army in Egypt and return to
