The Great Gatsby is a book that was filled with a bunch of themes that fit together so perfectly. One key theme that the book talks about is love. Love is everywhere in the book, from start to finish. The book is filled with all types of love ranging from fake love to Continuous love. With love, love is never ending and people can relate to it. With this, one character in particular in this book has continuous love. James Gatz. If James Gatz were a song it would be the song Pride by Kendrick Lemar. Pride’s Lyrics fit so well with Jay Gatsby lyrics.

The first line of pride fits so well with Gatsby. “Love's gonna get you killed/
But pride's gonna be the death of you, and you and me”.

Jay Gatsby was a man filled with love, wealth, and devotion. This relates to these lyrics because Jay Gatsby was in love with Daisy Buchanan. Daisy Buchanan was this wealthy woman from Louisville, Kentucky. Who got her wealth from her parents. While she’s in her late 20’s she married Tom Buchanan and she moved to East eggs. Eventually she has a daughter, Pamela. For Jay, Daisy was his dream girl. In the book Jay makes a decision about Daisy that leads to his death. Jay did all these things for Daisy like become rich and other insane things. These next lyrics of Pride relate to Gatsby’s backstory and how he came up.

When he was growing up, he didn’t have all the riches, he was actually dirt poor. He was the son of poor farmers in North Dakota. He didn’t want a poor life. He was to become rich and famous. During his life he went to the military, where he also met Daisy at a party. During Gatsby's life, he worked multiple jobs like a janitor. Later on in his life he started to gain some money. When Gatsby had money he bought all these fancy things and “new worldly possessions”. With that Gatsby showed all his love for her, and would die for her. Another bar of lyrics Pride relates to this
