Lucas Benitez is born in Mexico and moved to the U.S. when he was 17. He worked in a tomato farm and had low pay, and hard labor every day. Each day he had to wake up at five a.m. and work till five p.m.. He could not live like this any more he thought to himself. He Knew he had to do something, but he did not now what to do. One day after working hours they were told that some teenage boy was beaten and tortured until he worked. Right then Lucas knew that this was the story he need to protest on. He gathered with his friends and thought of what to do. They finally thought of sending an investigation crew to the site to put the land owner in jail. They found enough evidence to through him in jail for child abuse and they also found that that he was keeping the worker hostage in a trailer on the farm. One more thing they found was that the landowner was ntt paying the workers their daily wage. Lucas thought to himself and said this is what I will protest on, I will raise are yearly wage. One of his first actions was to launch a campaign for Fair Food. This would help him protest against multi billionaire businesses. Lucas responded by saying, “ We are all leaders”. In my opinion i think lucas is right. If we all follow are dreams and compassion we can truly do anything. One thing that Lucas said that inspired people to follow him is he said “ The right to just wage, the right to work free labor, the right to organize three of the rights in the United Nations Universal Declaration of human rights are routinely Violated when it comes to farm workers in the U.S.A”.
