The Seven deadly sins have been around for a very long time, and to set a standard for the human race. These seven sins usually lead people to be unreasonable and unhappy, or may also cause them to be self-destructive. Pope Gregory’s list included lust, gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath, envy, and pride. Lust is a sin in which seems to have taken a turn from being immoral and wicked to society portraying it as normal and becoming an issue in the twenty-first century. The media has heavily influenced lust in our society today. One college educator says about this topic, "because much of the content of television and other mass media involves issues of sexual conduct, the potential for influence in this area is especially great" (Atlanta Journal, May 24, 1992). Many others have also agreed with him/her on this. The producers and writers of these shows disagree with this statement and state that there films just reflect society. Lust is evident in many relationships we see today. Psychiatrist Judith Orloff explains the problem with lust, “...lust is fueled by idealization and projection...” Lust blinds you to see your partner for who she or he really is. This is an issue commonly found in teenagers, as sex hormones are raging keeping an individual from thinking rationally.
