Shadowshaper by Daniel Jose Older is about Sierra Santiago a teen living in Brooklyn. Sierra is an artist and has recently started a big mural on the side of a building as summer starts. While working on it she looks across to the mural on the wall adjacent and notices its fading and the expression seems to be changing to an angry man them she sees a tear fall from the eye of the man in the mural and she knows something is wrong, and that something really weird is going on. The Mural is greatly pushed by Manny and her grandfather to get it done fast to help save everyone because someone is coming for them. The works of art I chose to compare and contrast are Memento Mori, "To This Favour", 1879 by William Michael Harnett, and Bull Skull, Fruit, Pitcher, 1939 by Pablo Picasso. The symbolism behind these two paintings are very similar. There are also some similarities in the composition of these two paintings, but there are many differences in the composition of these two paintings. The first symbolic similarity is that these paintings have a meaning of death.
Chris McCandless, or should I say Alex McCandless, was a one of a kind person. Of course, we all are, however McCandless was the scapegoat of many communities. He changed his named and started a new life, running away from his parents expectations. He died in August, 1992 because of poison. Martin Luther King Jr. was a character that is well known for his protests and leadership against racial discrimination, especially discrimination against African Americans.
Every artist is different and that goes for the art too. Any piece of art looks different with the shape, style, color, or even smell sometimes. On a canvas, it could have similar brushstrokes and completely different. Also, the reason why they started to paint, either to make money, to gain status, or just for fun. Just like there is differences between artists Henrietta Johnson and John Smibert.
Picasso has strongly focused to give a political statement in his painting, it gives the viewers a message that killing of innocent people, violence, unrest in the region, bombing and the overall destruction is of no use to humanity and it only gives harm and pain. He is trying to tell the people that peace and harmony is the only solution that would benefit the world. Though the painting Guernica was painted by Picasso as a reply to the bombings and unrest in Spain by the German and Italian forces in Spanish civil war, the painting has not only created its affect for the Guernica of that time but also it has left a message and meaning for us and years to come. The unrest in many conflicted regions today, like what happened in the Arab spring

The sun and moon are completely different, but they both allow a sense of time. How can two different objects provide the same idea? A picture can have the same moral lesson as a short story can, depending on the viewers perspective. After reading Cathedral by Raymond Carver and viewing “Blue Night” by Edward Hopper, it’s shown they both share multiple similarities. Carver and Hoppers characters, settings, action and conflict have shown similarities because both use minimalism, realism and perspective.
Hisability to make his artwork appear very dramatic
He spend a large amount of time enjoying the same pastimes as his father. Together his father’s influence on his was vast. Since Picasso was eight years old his art notes his talent and ability. His influences of other know artists like Velasquez and Zurbaran were notable.
Albrecht Dürer, considered one of Germany’s quintessential artists, was an innovator born out of his time. Though mainly a draftsman, Dürer can be described as a virtuoso in numerous artistic disciplines: oil paint, art theory, engineering, and printmaking. His contributions to the High Northern Renaissance revolutionized the nature of German art and inspired the works of future artists. His talents began in the city of Nuremberg, or Nürnberg, during a period of upheaval, feuds, and political unrest. The Habsburg dynasty had no firm control over its subjects; independent cities, including Nürnberg, and feudal lands comprised the governing entities of the Holy Roman Empire.
One of the clearest similarities is that both artists

Picasso had many drawings that indirectly supported men to be the superior and wiser. For example, in his La vie painting he drew a naked woman standing beside a man who is wearing underwear, as on the other side there was another woman who was holding a baby. One can judge Picasso as a man who looked at women as sexual objects or mothers depending on what his paintings were about, especially this one. Therefore, one can realize how Picasso’s art has supported the inferiority of
