The famous drama “The Tragedy of Macbeth” by William Shakespeare is a very disastrous one. The hero, Macbeth, has a desire for power, and he uses murder and ruthlessness to make sure nothing stands in his way. Throughout the play, one would observe good vs. evil by Macbeth transforming from a noble warrior, to an immoral enemy. In the beginning, Macbeth is seen a good and moral character. First off, Duncan states to Malcolm, “There’s no art to find the mind’s construction in the face: He was an absolute gentleman on whom I built an absolute trust.” (Act IV, Scn 1, Ln 11-14) Duncan begins bragging on Macbeth, and tells about how much he trusts Macbeth and how good Macbeth was. Also, in Act I, Duncan has a conversation with Lady Macbeth about his love for Macbeth. “Give me your hand. Conduct me to mine host. We love him highly and shall continue our graces towards him, by your leave, hostess.” (Scn 6, Ln 27-32) Duncan describes his love for Macbeth and how he will always favor him. In Act IV, Macbeth speaks about the ringing of the bell. “I go and it is done: the bell invites me.” (Scn 1, Ln 62) Macbeth decides to finally murder Duncan and allows the ringing of the bell, to alarm him to go and then proceed with the wicked deed.
