Literary Analysis Essay: Macbeth Macbeth is a play composed by William Shakespeare. Macbeth is a play that takes place in Scotland and England. The play follows a man named Macbeth that was once a great man however by the end he is greedy and hated as he stills the crown of Scotland and betrays the people that trusted him. This play contains the rise and fall of Macbeth. The play also contains lots of excitement, betrayal and greed.
Throughout the play Macbeth gets more and more greedy; it starts in the beginning of the play with the witches. When Macbeth meets the witches for the first time he isn't satisfied with what they told him as shown “Wait! You only told me part of what I want to know. Stay and tell me more” (Act 1, Scene 3). This quote shows that Macbeth is a man that what's more than what he needs. Maybe if Macbeth never asked for more than he would have been happy with what he had.

Even after Macbeth became the thane of cawdor he still wanted more power “Now I’m the thane of Cawdor, just like they said I would be. But if this is a good thing, why do I find myself thinking about murdering King Duncan” (Act 1, Scene 3). Macbeth is so obsessed with power he is willing to kill the king. Macbeth is willing to do whatever it takes to abstain more power even if it means hurting someone that is innocent. This power that he has will only lead him to more
