I think that Macbeth is a tragic hero. The three witches that told him his prophecy of being the king tempted Macbeth. Although he is a loyal hero in war, he didn’t try to stay of of this, but he tried to speed up the process in order to fulfill his ambition. In the end, he fell into the game, which the witches had planned. In the beginning, Macbeth is shown as a brave hero that kills traitors, making killing almost holy. But when the witches tempted him with three prophecies, he couldn’t resist. Since Macbeth is greatly praised and respected by the King, the first prophecy of him being the Thane of Candor became true. Therefore, Macbeth let his hopes of being King led high. His close relationship with his wife allows their ambitions to be alike, but in order for the plan to kill King Duncan succeed; Lady Macbeth has to use her strength to push Macbeth to meet his …show more content…
His loving relationship with his wife also changes as this act of murder caused a tremendous effect on his psychology. This reflects that he is not wicked by nature, but his greediness took over his loyal self. Macbeth becomes a dictator after crowned King of Scotland. People dared not to oppose him because he is not afraid to kill anyone now. He even kills his former companion Banquo because he seemed like a threat to his throne. His relationship with his wife has greatly shifted as he doesn’t need her strength of help anymore, and he becomes very ingoing and doesn’t share any information with his wife. Towards the end of the story, Macbeth’s behavior worsens and soon becomes mad after the new prophecies given by the masters of the witches. His wife’s true self reveals that she is a strong woman like in the beginning and she can’t live with the guilt of killing King Duncan. In the end, Malcom, the son of Duncan, killed Macbeth, and he suffered the ending of traitors – to have his head put up
