Lady Macbeth has a huge role in Shakespeare ’s play Macbeth. In the play we find a very frightening and strong female character. She is the wife of Macbeth and becomes queen later on. In the play she has a manipulative and ruthless characteristic.
Lady Macbeth is known to be one of the most frightening and challenging characters in the play Macbeth. The play starts with Macbeth being told his destiny to become the Thane of Cawdor and when Lady Macbeth finds out she is instantly drawn to the likeness of being the Queen of Cawdor. In order to achieve this, she and Macbeth come up with a plan to kill Duncan and obtain his power. Once he is dead, rumors spread about who the murderer really is. As this starts to build, so does the pressure and guilt Lady Macbeth feels as she confesses about her role in the murder.
The film Macbeth illustrates Lady Macbeth and Macbeth to have very different personalities than their original counterpart of the play. Lady Macbeth is portrayed as a much more grieving mother. Her characteristics change and are more revealed during the killing of the Macduff family. Throughout the film Lady Macbeth is demonstrated as a much more emotional character, with her grieving over her child's death, to the breakdown during the terrifying burning of the Macduff family. The new characteristics of the character also again give a new feel to the storyline of the character.
When we are first presented with the character of Macbeth he is pictured as a noble and loyal warrior. However, once his future is presented to him by the witches saying that he, Macbeth, is to become the next great King of Scotland, he begins to lose focus and makes the wrong decisions. Macbeth begins to only make choices that will benefit only himself and to gain power. Becoming almost unrecognizable to the person he once was. After confronting his wife, Lady Macbeth, he isn't the only one with a lust for power.
Macbeth is a man from Scotland that struggles with his emotions. These emotions drive him to make bad decisions later in his life, causing him to go to Hell. Macbeth was a joyful and loving man who loved his wife Lady Macbeth. However, Macbeth becomes sad after he kills Duncan, who was a good king. This leads him to also kill Banquo.
Macbeth’s mental condition begins to dwindle as time goes on, starting with the murder of Duncan. At first, Macbeth is seen as a soldier that everyone aspires to be, strong, brave, and compassionate about his duties to the king. In act one scene two, Captain says, “...For brave Macbeth-well he deserves that name-...” This shows that he is a likeable person who has only the objective of serving his king. After meeting with the witches and hearing his prophecy, Macbeth starts to think about what it would be like to be king of Scotland.
The play Macbeth shows many signs of the characters changing throughout it. Some characters change due to their own actions and beliefs changing, but other characters change due to the actions of others around them. Many of these changes to characters can be traced back to Macbeth and his actions and changing beliefs. While many characters changed in many ways almost all the changes to characters can be seen as negative changes.

As the course of the story continues when the character of Macbeth grows into a in almost insane person as he rose into power and secure his throne. The main character in beginning is explain as noble and brave fighter but is influence by his desire of becoming the ruler. Macbeths weak character was an easy target for the female characters, who influence the behavior in a negative aspect. He notices that it will take some dirty deeds and some assassinations to have full control of the throne.

His easily impressionable nature causes him to not form his own thoughts, but rather listen to the words of Lady Macbeth and the three witches. At the point of this play the audience can note the change in Macbeth's character. Macbeth's first murder was a trying experience for him, however after the first murder; killing seemed to be the only solution to maintain his reign of the people of Scotland. Through this ambition Macbeth is able to organize these murders without a drop of remorse. This lack of remorse is his shrill that pushes him to continue with his evil conspiracies.
Macbeth is a hero introduced in the play whose fame and heroics upon the battlefield have gained him great honour from the king. From this picture of Macbeth I’ll show you how he changed from dramatic hero to a despicable villain, capable of murdering his friends and his king all for the pursuit of ultimate power in the land. The aim of this is essay is to show his mental and physical development during the play. The reason I chose this topic is because I find it interesting that even one who is good may turn to evil deeds in the pursuit of power. Macbeth is a prime example of this, how far will you go for your own pride and power.

The Tragedy of Macbeth incorporates character development to present William Shakespeare’s motive; throughout the play it allows the audience to see the message the play relays. The play is a tragedy and it specifically shows the tragedy of humans as they self destruct. There is a use of literary devices to create different aspects of each character allowing them to portray different images of themselves that wouldn’t be noticed initially. Compared to how the audience views each character in the beginning of the play, the image develops into something new as different aspects are revealed. The characters and their continuous changes become the essence of the play.
