Politics in Macbeth

Macbeth is known for his bravery and courageous abilities to fight and defend his country. As we look upon our countries today in a political manner we recognize the similarities between the play Macbeth and our world issues. In the drama of Macbeth we observe Macbeth’s loyalty, power, and corruption. We can relate to all these three characteristics towards the prime ministers that have or are ruling our countries. My relation and concern is towards many countries and their political laws. We observe that Macbeth put his life in risk to go fight in the battle against their enemy Macdonwald. This can be related to our government, Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. In his recent oath, regarding the queen he showed his dedication towards her and the monarchy. He stated while giving his pledge “I, … do swear that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second, Queen of Canada, Her Heirs and Successors. He believed that by killing the Jews he was cleansing the earth. What he did not see was that Jews were people like himself. Therefore both Macbeth and Hitler demonstrated their hateful personalities, through creating murders. In the play, Macbeth demonstrated various cases of corruption power. He demanded his wish to not let anybody come between him and his greediness towards the throne. As the play went along in act three, we determine that Macbeth wants to kill both Fleance and Banquo, for they become a threat to his authority. As stated in the play Macbeth say’s “Your spirits shine through you. Within this hour at most I will advise you where to plant yourselves, acquaint you with the perfect spy o' th' time, the moment on ’t; for ’t must be done tonight, and something from the palace; always thought that I require a clearness. And with him— to leave no rubs nor botches in the work— Fleance, his son, that keeps him company, whose absence is no less material to me than is his father’s, must embrace the fate of that dark hour. Resolve yourselves apart. I’ll come to you anon.” As he plans this we recognize how corrupt his behaviour became and eager he was to get rid of anybody that came his way.
