“The Magna Carta was a document issued by the English noblemen who demanded rights from the king and limited the rights of the king’s power,” (A). This document had monumental effects that are still felt around the world today. The Magna Carta is indispensable indispensable document for democracy because it has impacted many other important texts, impactor citizen’s legal rights, and guaranteed individual freedoms. The Magna Carta has influenced numerous documents that give rights to people. The document changed the way society thought and acted. The Magna Carta was a document giving more rights to people, and outlined the specific reasons for these rights. The document did not exclude anyone, stating, “...the right and liberties would be extended to all men,” (A). The Magna Carta did not classify people by race nor social class, it allowed everyone to be included. This leveled the playing field, by not putting one over another. Due to the impact it had on Britain, other documents were drawn that expressed similar rights. In the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, it states, “...recognition of the inherent dignity and of the equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family is the foundation of freedom, justice, and peace in the world,” (D). The base for democracy and peace is having equal rights and allowing for equal opportunities. This Declaration acknowledges that equal rights for all is the only way to accomplish anything, because it allows everyone
