Have you ever had one major event in your life impact you that changed your life drastically? In The Kite Runner By Khaled Hosseini, Baba kept a secret from Amir and Hassan. Baba had told Amir and Hassan that they were brothers all along. Another major event in The Kite Runner is when Sohrab attempted to commit suicide. In the Kite Runner written by Khaled Hosseini, he creates the theme that one major event can affect a person’s life that shows how once Amir found out about Hassan being his brother, and Sohrab attempting suicide.

To begin, at one part in the book after Amir got off the phone with Rahim something that Rahim said stuck with Amir and made him contemplate his choices. “Come there is a way to be good again." Suddenly, he understood that Rahim Khan knew, and had always known, what he did to Hassan”. By including this quote Hosseini acknowledges the fact there is room for redemption even after the events that changed Amir’s life. For example if Amir never framed Assef then Rahim would have been effected and it would have changed the course of Amir’s life.
