However, the book more so discusses the cultural changes of the United States. Despite their success in breaking away from Britain, the country struggled to find their own identity. Political changes were proceeding considerably more rapidly than cultural changes. Americans had many similarities to the people of England. They spoke the same language, practiced the same religions, and had the same heritage inherited Anglo-Saxon society.

In Economic parts are Industrial Revolution , textile, invented Cotton Gin, Slavery and Labor and In political parts are Market Revolution, WHIGS, Banking System, National Republican and Republicans and in Social parts are Population, Free Soil and Slave.
A time period that ranges from the 1800’s to 1850’s is known as a tremendous changing time for our young country of America. These changes included the Social Reform Era, Manifest Destiny, Industrialization, and Urbanization. Changes like these took huge effect on American History. Without knowing and understanding these aspects it is very difficult to know how the development of America worked. It is important to realize that events like these let America unravel into a valuable long lasting country.

In the late 1600’s, many European settlers arrived in North America in hopes of escaping the hardships they faced back home. America initially promised colonists the wealth, religious freedom, and escape from oppression they desired. New England was home to dense forests, and hills which was not optimal for crop growth. Therefore, the colonists directed their attention towards trade and commerce. The people in this region were devoutly religious and believed in the education of children.
This period started after the Civil War, which left the country divided and attempting to recover from the damages of it. While the Civil War had left the country in damage, it was still working to recover while struggling with problems related to industry, urbanization, and immigration. Reform and social justice were prioritized during this time, and there was a strong belief in the ability of the state to control the economy and make life better for its people. The United States saw big changes throughout the Progressive Era, which was crucial in forming the nation's identity during this time. Many issues, such as social inequality, political corruption, and economic instability, faced America.
Social Issues of the Gilded Age The Gilded Age created a divide between a growing class of millionaires, and the labor force. Employee and employer could never trusted each other. Every worker felt overworked and underrepresented leading to strikes, which in turn made employers feel like their right to acquire wealth was being denied. The government was no longer for the people, and instead backed large corporations and the rich men behind them.

During the progressive era our country faced many problems. The rise of substantial businesses caused industrial problems. Women suffrage, alcohol, child labor, and safety issues caused social problems. The necessitation of citizens in government decisions also caused political problems. Progressives were people who wanted to solve all of these quandaries.
Everyone is unique. People come from different cultural, ethnic, racial, and political backgrounds. These collections of differences are what makeup America. Ignoring similarities and shared experiences creates separation across a nation. Once change America recognizes change, it can become a better place for all types of people.

During CultureALL, we had six speakers come in from all over the world to tell us about their cultures and how they celebrate traditions. In the United States, we celebrate Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and many more. In other parts of the United States, they celebrate different traditions. Out of the six speakers, I chose two that are in the United States, however they are not part of the main 48 states; Alaska & Hawaii. I also chose Japan because there are a lot of interesting celebrations that I would like to write about.
Social Problems in Societies Social problems are issues which are considered to affect majority if not all members of a society either directly or indirectly. Whenever people come to live together in a social setting, conflict arises from their differences in opinions regarding political issues, religion, ethnic issues, cultural practices and other health and hygiene issues. In such a situation, we can say a society inevitably develops social problems. The various social issues present today vary from society to society, and as such, we cannot say that all societies face similar social issues.
