One of the book's main themes is trauma and how it shapes our experiences and impacts our lives. The authors mention that trauma is widespread, an often misunderstood concept and the importance of trying to understand brains, as "over the years, I have found that seemingly senseless behaviour makes sense once you look at what's behind it" (Perry & Winfrey, 2021, p. 23) Also, the authors focus on how someone's early development can be crucial for whom we become, as "the younger you are, the more you depend upon your caregivers to help you interpret the world. For her, it was a resilience-building experience, not a trauma". (Perry & Winfrey, 2021, p. 102) Another important point made by the authors is that resilience is not a solo act. It is a collaborative effort that involves relationships and connections with others who provide support and encouragement. Overall, "What Happened to You?" explores the theme of resilience and its importance in our
