After Malcolm X’s tendentious comment about John F. Kennedy’s death, Elijah Muhammad silenced Malcolm to dissociate the act from the Nation of Islam; however, Muhammad intended to use the event as an excuse to finally disown Malcolm due to jealously and Malcolm’s urge to publicly confront and challenge racial politics with aggression. Malcolm’s childhood and early adulthood experiences caused him to believe all white Americans were untrustworthy and in order to protect one’s self, violence was necessary, which was a notion opposed by the Nation of Islam. With Mahammad’s hypocritical stance against Malcolm along with his several secretarial affairs, Malcolm knew Mahammad was not the leader he pretended to be.
