Men’s Right: Male liberation after the women movement in 1960’s and 1970’s
Introduction
The sensual revolution in the 60’s saw the proliferation of young women engaging in premarital and extramarital relationships. This revolution attributed to advancement in contraception which gave women the power to be more dominant, during erotic escapades. In this case, women supplement the extent of intimacy beyond the matrimonail union. For the male species, it meant a world void of societal expectations of them. A world they could readily express their inner most feelings and reveal their darkest secrets. Therefore, it is important to justify the benefits men experience through the freedom from social conventions of procreative roles.

They now worried less of unexpected fatherhood and marriages. For this reason, men evaded the unproductive costs of the sole provider and supporter of the family unit, over the expense of their personal development and freedom.

The sexual revolution made sex cost-free for men who had either a busy life or reluctant to engage in the daunting task of dating and courtship (Cohen, para.3). This provided an easy channel to avoid the expectation of a masculine demeanor, confident and aggressive nature. Consequently, men can enjoy the forbidden sensual thrills contrary to the male moral conduct. Also, it allowed the male species to yield, indulged in pleasure and be well understood, sensually by the female species. As a result, men had the freedom to show their inner emotions, gentleness and weaknesses without social discrimination or criticism.
