Romantic Archetypes In Romantic Movies

When you think of romantic movies, you think about love or affection to someone, but in this case, we are talking about romantic archetypes. The ones that show good conquering evil. In both movies, Thor and Man of Steel show phases 1 and 2 very well. In the movie Man of Steel, phase 1 was shown undoubtedly better than Thor because it had literally shown the birth of Superman (Henry Cavill), realizing his power and learning how to use it, whereas in the movie Thor, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) was shown as a young boy but not right from birth. When he finally learned what they were he used them to great use. He later discovers that he is not a normal human, and finds a ship from his home planet with information about his true identity. Superman is then forced to defend Earth from another surviving member of his race, General Zod (Michael Shannon) targets Earth as a new vessel for Krypton. To save mankind Superman had to fight General Zod. He is fighting for the fate of mankind. General Zod was looking to recreate Krypton as it was his sole purpose after the end of Krypton. Superman struggles to fight against Zod as he knows he and Zod are closely related. He also has never fought anyone else of Zods strength. After a very tough battle, Superman came out victorious and saved the whole world. The characters of Thor and Superman conform to the description of a romantic hero because they are both innocent, they both live in imaginary worlds of aliens, gods, and villains, and they both survive their interaction with their clash with the villains and live to tell the tale. In the movie Thor, Thor came out victorious after a very tough battle against his own brother to save the whole world and the planet of Asgard. Thor had a very rough life since he was banished from Asgard and losing all of his powers. Finding out that his brother had taken over Asgard and was planning on destroying Earth made his job even harder. With these tough obstacles, Thor put his life on the line to save the whole world and managed to come out successful. In winning the fight, Thor was then crowned the ruler of Asgard. Furthermore, in the movie Man of Steel, Superman had all his life to experience what his powers were and what he can do. When he found out what was going on and the only way to save the world was to kill someone that he was close to, he had no choice but to fight General Zod and save those people. General Zod was someone very close to Superman. He's been in his life since he was a little boy so having to fight and kill him was a challenge, also to mention that Zod had higher power and more strength. Superman risked his life and fought Zod. In winning this fight, Superman was awarded by being able to live a normal life on earth. Thor conforms the power of innocence better because he was stripped of his powers and banished from his own planet.
