In the book Animal Farm by George Orwell, animals on a farm are unhappy with their life, so they rebel and take over their farm for themselves.. In the beginning of the book the white boar on the farm which everyone calls Old Major has had a dream where man has gone from the Earth and all is peaceful. He also sings a song called Beast of England. It talks of a time when man will be overthrown from the Earth and animals will rein the Earth and there will be no more hunger and no more cruel punishment for any animals.

In Animal Farm the pigs were the leaders and the other animals were the civilians. In the beginning the animals thought the pigs would be good leaders, but soon after them gaining suspicion the pigs made them feel dumb and wrong about their thought. Although knowledge an education can bring about great changes, but in the wrong hands it is extremely dangerous because those in power can withhold information, those in power can break or make new laws, and those that are in power will discriminate against those weaker but different turn against them.

a. Orwell’s Animal Farm is an allegory because the events that happen on Manor Farm are very similar to the events that happened in Russia. For instance, when the animals overthrew Mr. Jones, this was to illustrate the Russian Revolution where the peasants overthrew the ruling party. The characters in Animal Farm symbolize historical figures such as Joseph Stalin (Napoleon), the KGB (the dogs), and the working class (Boxer). The windmill project causes the feud between Napoleon and Snowball, and Snowball is forced to leave the farm much like Stalin caused Leon Trotsky to leave the country.
