William Shakespeare is a classic writer and has written several plays. One of his famous plays he has written was Othello. There is several hidden meaning behind a person’s appearance. Lies and manipulation are common in the play and to society. When Iago manipulates each character he finds their weakness and their passion to make them do what he desires. Jealousy and violence are common to society and shows us that jealousy can destroy a person. There are several different ways to show violence, physically, mentally, and verbally.
Iago portrayed himself as being honest and truthful, which allowed him to earn Othello trust and win him over. He is very good at saying the right things at the right time to people. There are many people in the world like Iago, maybe not a master manipulator

Iago tells on Othello and Desdemona secret marriage. In Act I Scene I, Iago says “Call up her father, Rouse him: make after him, poison his delight, proclaim him in the streets; increase her kinsmen, And, though he in a fertile climate dwell, Plague him with flies: though that his joy be joy, Yet throw such changes of vexation on’t, as it may lose some color.” (Line 68-73) This was just the beginning of his plan to get vengeance. There is an analogy Iago makes reference to, gardening and his free will Act I scene III “… our bodies are our gardens, to the which our wills are gardeners: so that if we will plant nettles, or sow lettuce, set hyssop and weed up thyme supply it with one gender… why, the power and corrigible authority of this lies in our wills.” Iago planted seeds of doubt and jealousy in Othello’s mind about his wife, Desdemona.
