Mansa Musa set off on his hajj and traveled thousands of miles through deserts, and strange cities to get to Mecca. Although this was a very religious journey, was this pilgrimage really all for religious purposes? Religion may have been a large motivating factor for this trip, but Mansa Musa did not journey on his hajj just for religious purposes. There were many other motivating factors for why Mansa Musa took this journey. Some motives were to set up better trade for the future, and gain popularity for his kingdom Mali and himself.

The movie “Bajo la Misma Luna,” in my own opinion, is a wonderful film representing all of the obstacles and sacrifices families have to go through to live in a free and safe environment. Some of the obstacles that these Mexican families encounter would include the hardships illegal immigrants face with la migra along with the reasons for Mexicans to immigrate and cross the border. Also jobs available for illegal immigrants are difficult to find as well. Jews who refused to convert were threatened to be killed. Sometimes when a member of a Jewish family converted, their family would say the Kaddish for them as if they had died. The conversos were not usually treated as Old Christians were.

When Atul spoke about Peter doctor not noticing a tumor in his x-ray, and later Peter development lymphoma (Gawande, 2007), that is consider negligent. Working at an Adult Day Health center, there are many situations that you hear from clients telling one another how they are unhappy about their kids treating them or simply not getting along with his/her kids. Hearing these stories, it is hard not wanting to do something about it.
On the 29th of December in 2011 Kali Jo Arnzen, a regular high school going 17 year old teenage girl was ice skating in the area between Ritter and the bank when she heard ice break. The manner in which this young girl reacted to the situation at hand is what would classify her as a true hero. In this essay the circumstances of the heroic act that won Kali Jo Arnzen an award by the Carnegie Hero Fund then will be described.
