Euthanasia, also known as assisted suicide, means to take a deliberate action with the intention of ending a life to relieve unstoppable suffering, this practice is currently illegal in 46 states. Dying is one of the few things in life that is guaranteed to us as human beings, it’s a right that we are granted at birth, and if a person is in insufferable pain they should have the choice of whether they express that right or not. Diseases that bring a person to the tipping point between life and death can take a serious obviously take a terrible toll on a patient physically but the damage it takes mentally can be equally as bad if not worse. The cost of life support has skyrocketed the past few years and a patient at the end of life can leave their family in financial turmoil to go along with the grief of a lost loved one when they pass. The practice of Euthanasia should be legalized, it gives patients at the end of their life a chance to go out on their own terms rather than dying at the hands of their illness. …show more content…

If a illness takes away a person's basic abilities like breathing, or movement and machines are needed to carry out those abilities than that disease has removed the patient’s ability to self-determine, Now add the variable of constant pain and suffering to the point where the patient would consider death the only alternative, Over time these two will result in the loss of the patients hope, they will eventually lose sight of anything other than the cruel reality that they live in, when they could move around and form opinions by themselves will all be distant, the thing that will be most real thing to them will be the state of constant pain that they are in, when a person is in constant pain with no hope death may be the best
