Margaret Mitchell was a Classic American author known for her gripping romance and characters full of depth from Her Novel Gone with The Wind. The Writer started her interest in writing at a young age and was always doing it. She continued writing into college and eventually into the workforce. She faced many challenges both in her work life and personal but all of this Is what helped her to become the amazing author she is known as today. Margaret Mitchell Was born on November 8th, 1900 in Atlanta, Georgia. Her Father was Eugene Muse Mitchell; an attorney. Her mother was Mary Isabell Stephens, a suffragist. Margaret Mitchell only had one sibling, a brother named Stevens Mitchell. Even as a young child Mitchell was always writing in one way or another. She often wrote short stories dedicated to her mother. Later in her childhood, she would write plays for her parents that she would direct and act in along with the other kids in her neighborhood. During the time She worked there she married her second husband John Robert Marsh in 1925. Mitchell’s career came to a quick and abrupt end when she Injured her ankle in 1926. She could no longer be a journalist due to her injury. It was at this time that she began writing her novel Gone with The Wind. Mitchell wrote in a very peculiar way starting first with the last chapter then writing the rest in a completely random order. Gone with The Wind was a romance novel set during the civil war. Mitchell had always been fascinated by the civil war and had even believed that her parents had actually lived through it when she was younger. The novel focuses around a female lead named scarlet and her many troubles in both her work and romantic life. Many people believe that Mitchell drew from her previous failure in her love life as well as her inability to work due to her ankle to help create realistic
