The Adventure of Huckleberry Finn book is a book that talks about slavery, race, and many different things. The one thing that was interesting about the book is the fact that slaves and non-slaves can be genuine friends. The book “The Adventure of Huckleberry Finn” was released in February 1885. The book was written by the main character in the book whose real name is Mark Twain, and his friend Jim. This book takes place near the border of Mississippi which is located in the United States of America. Huckleberry Finn saw a change of many things when he started his journey. If we look at chapter 16, Huck was feeling guilty to turn Jim in. He was still going to turn him in because, he had a “feeling so mean” that he “wished he was dead”. He later heard Jim call him his best friend by saying, "Dah you goes, de ole true Huck; de on'y white genlman dat ever kep' his promise to ole Jim." Jim trusted Huck and knew that Huck can be his best friend instead of another person. There are many different spots in the book that talks about Huck seeing the real Jim. For instance, when Huck and Jim were in the forest, Huck saw Jim’s real self. Jim started to talk about why he ran away with Huck. The reason why he ran away with Huck is because his owner was going to sell him which will move him away from his family. This goes back to the friendships, without Jim, Huck wouldn’t have seen a change in slavery. For instance, Huck liked Jim so much that he didn’t bother talking or even hanging out with a slave. When Huck found out that Jim had a family and how much he cared for them, Huck found out that separating them were the peoples fault who supported slavery. There are many different sources that show that Huck cares for Jim because they have gone through so many trials together. Later, towards the end of the book, Huck says, “"I know'd he was white inside." This shows that Huck knows Jim was equal and that “all men are created equal” (Declaration of Independence.) This goes back to the part where Huck and Jim are in the forest talking to one another. That is when Huck finds out that Jim has a family and he feels discouraged and awful. It wasn’t the fault of the people against it, it was the people who were with it. For example, we have the southerners who wouldn’t give up slavery so they decided to take away others lives. If Jim wasn’t black, will everybody like him more? They will because he is white. That’s not the point of the story though, no matter what race we are, we are all human have the same rights to have
