This article is about the book “Men Are from Mars and Women Are from Venus” written by Mr. John Gray in the 90’s. Firstly a summary of the book is written which is followed by a critique about the book evaluating its authority, accuracy, objectivity and coverage. The review will also analyze the facts and theories before finally judging the book’s accessibility and credibility. Overall, I would say that the book was a well-organized, very informative and helpful book for newly wed couples and it also acts as a guide for those couples who fights for almost everything.
The main argument which John Gray used is that the image of romantic love that the do-it-yourself business tries to sell is based on a few misunderstandings. The first is the ideology that love is a game with champions and runner-ups. The second is the idea that men and women are naturally different in order to make romance work, so they need to learn to predict what is on their partner’smind.
Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus" meaning that men and women are so different. But my impression is that Gray's argument is more about different communication styles and perceptions, rather than about important human abilities.
