A Servant leader is a person who leads unselfishly and has the passion to serve. Being selfless and open-minded are ideal characteristics of a servant leader. Servant leaders focus on their group or community and their overall well being. In order to get the job done, a servant leader shares power and helps his fellow group member reach their full potential.
Martin Luther King Jr. is a modern day example of a servant leader. He didn't intend on leading one of the most prolific and proactive movements in American history. Martin Luther King Jr. started out his career as a pastor, leading the congregation and preaching the word of God. He became one of the most successful activists in the civil rights movement because of his positive attitude
