In addition to the methodology that surrounded the Black Lives Matter Movement, the direct actions behind the movement helped gain the attention and regency of the issues. After the first appearance of the hashtag on social media it started gaining fame after the tragic death of Michael Brown as the hashtag went viral. The marches happening in Ferguson, Missouri were in response to the terrible police brutality that has plagued our society for African Americans. African Americans and minorities alike have been dealing with the stresses of discrimination, segregation, and fear that has been brought on by the white man in power. The Black Lives Matter Rides got huge media attention across the nation catching the eyes of many people. In following some of the actions of Martin Luther King Jr. helped the Black Lives Matter movement turn into the new civil rights era. The idea of gaining social powered helped since:

The people who challenge the groups causing oppression have the ability to persuade the oppressed groups and can use their new power to shift the attention on the common issue at hand. With the rise of the Black Lives Matter movement, the new trends of All Lives Matter and Blue Lives Matter have been causing dialogues throughout the country. The idea behind that All Lives Matter and not just African American lives has been a common response, but the ladies behind the movement have addressed them in response to their beliefs. Many people who support the lives of police officers and civil workers have also started up the Blue Lives Matter movement. With the growing number of supporters for the Black Lives Matter movement, we have been able to explain and fight against their claims. The generous celebrity supports of the Black Lives Matter movement have been able to donate to support the cause with The Weekend donating 250,000 dollars and Beyoncé and Jay Z raising 1.5 million dollars to social justice groups (Price). Celebrities all over the country have been addressing the All Lives Matter and the Blue Lives Matter movements about how they are ignorantly not understanding the purpose behind the Black Lives Matter
