Martin Luther King Jr., education affected his career strongly during the Birmingham campaign and the Civil rights movement. Without his education and the trails he’s been put through, Dr. King would not have made it this far. However, his view of the last 3 years of his life during the Birmingham and Selma campaigns seemed to be led by faith and hope. Dr. King believed in his people of all colors. In my opinion, I do believe that Dr. King was A leader at the right time and at the right place.
Martin Luther King Jr was a hero, and a great leader. He did many things for this country while he was alive, he changed this country in many ways. Martin Luther King was very strong and passionate about what he wanted to change. Martin was very inspirational to a lot of people. A lot of people looked up to Martin Luther, because they thought he could do great things in this country.
I believe Martin Luther King Junior was a great leader in history. According to Manning and Curtis(2012) an elected official uses power from their followers and their own experience so I believe Martin Luther was an elected official. He pulled power from his followers to fight for what was right for them. There are several examples that I could give but one example is the movement toward equality for the black people of America.

According to Carson & Lewis (2016), King came from a comfortable middle-class family steeped in the tradition of the Southern black ministry. King was a Baptist minister and activist who in the mid-1950s led the civil rights movement.

At first, I was looking at previous presidents that would allow me to gain some historical value while critiquing the things that made them great leaders. Knowing most of the presidents and what they have done historically, I chose to analyze the leadership style of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Martin Luther King has an outgoing personality. He connects with and inspires his followers. He paints a portrait for all his followers to envision. Martin Luther King demonstrates servant leadership. Servant leadership is leadership that transcends self-interest to serve the needs of others, by helping them grow professionally and personally.

Effective leadership is something that everybody wants but not enough people are willing to pursue. An effective leader is important because it is one of the only ways a group of people can succeed together. Every group of people needs guidance and an effective leader could be the defining factor between a successful or unsuccessful group. Great leaders are important because they shape the communities that they are leading and in a sense they are responsible, to some degree of a certain portion of the world's population so really leaders worldwide influence and impact the general population. This is why people need positive and effective leadership although not all effective leadership is positive, an effective leader could also have a negative impact and in comparison most people would prefer a leader who has no or little impact compared to a leader who has a huge negative impact so effective leadership isn’t always a good thing
Dr.King a Great Leader When you think of a good leader you think of someone who can influence and lead people. Good leaders do the right things for the people their leading and fight for whats right. Dr.Martin Luther King Jr. is a good leader because he fought for equal rights, he was a educated pastor, and he lead a movement that left behind a legacy that will be remembered forever. He played a very big role in ending segregation of African Americans in the U.S.(Biography, 2018).
“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.” These words were quoted from one of the world greatest leader, Martin Luther King jr born on January 15, 1929 in Atlanta and died on April 4, 1968. Using Martin Luther King jr we going to go through three different characteristics of a leader, namely; charismatic leader, transactional leader, and transactional leader. Doing so, we would be able to understand the above mentioned characteristics of leaderships and see which of the three characterizes Martin Luther King jr as a leader.
The reason why I choose Martin Luther King Jr. as a leader is because he changed segregation. He wanted each of us to be equal and not be segregated. He wanted us to come together as one not as enemies but as friends/family. He just wanted us to change our ways of segregation and become equal with each other. If he can change a lot of people about segregation than he is a great leader to me.
