Throughout the history of the United States, there have been countless public figures that had an enormous effect on today’s society. However, there are only three I felt are important to me. They are, Martin Luther King Jr, a significant civil rights activist. Franklin D. Roosevelt, creator of the New Deal policy and President of the United States during the first half of World War two. Cesar Chavez, a civil rights activist and an American labor leader.
Dr.Martin Luther king Jr was a Baptist minister and social activist. He led the civil rights movement and he used non violent protests to get the freedom that other blacks and himself deserved. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered this speech in a time of great civil unrest and the increasing of racial tensions. He showed many outstanding qualities ,perseverance,organizational ideas,dignity and respect. He was influenced by the idea of refusing to cooperate with an evil and unequal system.
Martin Luther King Jr. was a strong political leader who discussed the segregation of African Americans. MLK also was a minister and Noble Prize winner; he was also a leader in The National Association of Colored People (NAACP). Many African Americans opened up to what he had to say and followed his strategies of a nonviolent act in the Civil Rights Movement. MLK was one of the most important black leaders in his era where not only did he touch the hearts of many blacks but also grew to have many enemies with whites and other leaders who didn't agree in his nonviolent strategies and beliefs.
He is an American Baptist minister, activist, humanitarian, and a leader in the African-American Civil Rights Movement. He influenced the whole of world in just a few minutes in a true sense and he managed to sway not only African Americans but also people from other nations into the right direction of true justice. It was the courageous, high spirited, self assured, and decisive, Martin Luther King Jr. I personally witnessed the scene where King conveyed his message through an interminable yet effective speech which lasted for about seventeen minutes.
Martin Luther King Jr. was a civil right activist who fought for the right and equality of African American citizens. In his speech, he stressed that nonviolence was a more effective way to success. One of the rhetorical devices that was key was his persona. His persona showed his followers that with patience and persistence change will come. In his speech, King spoke about the march in Birmingham, Alabama, where he and his friend Bull Connor lead.
He was an activist that made a significant impact on the world and especially America because he fought for his cause when segregation was an important thing in the US. A big time that he stood up for his and a lot of colored people's rights was at the Selma to Montgomery march in 1965 and this was an important protest because it was a bunch of people fighting for the right to vote. Also, Martin Luther King got shot on April 4, 1968, in a hotel at 6:05 when he was standing outside on the balcony of his hotel room. James Earl Ray was the guy that shot him, and he did it because he thought that the colored should not have any rights and he did not like that he was making change in the US. Martin Luther King supports this quote because he fought for years and years and he finally got what he was working for.
The Persona of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. Martin Luther King was very influential in both his writings and speeches. King created a reputation for himself that will continue to live on throughout American history. He was inspirational to the point in which he has a holiday devoted to him, he has landmarks in many cities named in his honor, his name is one that every American has heard and knows at least a little bit about. Dr. King is responsible for many great works such as, “Letter from Birmingham Jail” and “American Dream”. Throughout his work, King has influenced countless people to stop wherever they might find themselves and evaluate their way of living.
Martin Luther King Jr is a man who helped blacks and whites in his lifetime. Martin Luther King Jr's example encourages us to invite God's love and peace into our lives, homes, and communities. He brought man and women of all different backgrounds and experiences together for the common goal of unity and equality for every person.
Martin Luther King Jr. as the leader of the black, heroically and wisely led them against racial discrimination risking his own life. He states, The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy -Martin Luther King Jr. His words tell us that in a time where discrimination was everywhere he stood up when people needed him the most, as a hero, showing his own heroic courageousness. Many people describe Martin Luther King Jr. as “One of the most lauded African-American leaders in history” (Biography.com).
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr is known for his strategy of nonviolent civil disobedience, which he used to advance the civil rights of black Americans who had been treated as second-class citizens for more than a century. King was an American Baptist minister, activist, humanitarian, and leader in the African-American Civil Rights Movement. He was a man that persuaded people worldwide to follow him during the Civil Rights Movement. King was a very passionate, caring man. A great leader that pushed and motivated blacks to achieve equal rights for all.
Martin Luther A person to think and speak about others is noteworthy, but to serve and to act on others is heroic. Martin Luther is a Hero, he is a great individual who has changed American History to this day. Martin Luther is a Hero because he exhibits bravery. Martin Luther King Jr. stood up for what he believed in and that was that all people of black and white should be created equally.
Martin Luther King Jr. How can one person change the world? Martin Luther King Jr. was a civil rights activist and leader . He completely changed the way people look at and treat others. Because of King civil right have changed forever and African Americans are now treated the same as anybody else.
Martin Luther King Jr. helped us realize that segregation and poverty are wrong. He also helped us realize that we should treat people the same. No matter race, color, or gender. He has impacted our everyday lives with the Civil Rights Act and his “I Have a Dream…” speech. He is an important man with an important history.
Martin Luther King Jr was a very good man he helped people get equal civil rights, he led the march on Washington, and he nonviolently helped get people civil rights. Martin Luther King Jr was an American Baptist minister, a humanitarian, and a leader in the African-American Civil Rights movement. He was a good man. He helped many people. He is an inspiration to many people.
Dr.King a Great Leader When you think of a good leader you think of someone who can influence and lead people. Good leaders do the right things for the people their leading and fight for whats right. Dr.Martin Luther King Jr. is a good leader because he fought for equal rights, he was a educated pastor, and he lead a movement that left behind a legacy that will be remembered forever. He played a very big role in ending segregation of African Americans in the U.S.(Biography, 2018).
