On August 28, 1963 Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his famous speech “I Have a Dream.” He wanted everyone to know how he truly felt so he decided to write a speech because he knew their was going to be news reporter. Once he started speaking, he didn’t even look at his script no more because he started talking from the bottom of his heart. Without even noticing it, he started preaching and his audience noticed that he was being serious. Also willing to help others in need and expect nothing. The reason why he kept repeating “I Have a Dream” is because that was his strategy so he can make sure his audience knew what his main point was. In addition, something interesting that stood out from the event was when Dr. King said “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.” King strongly believed that America would be a land of freedom where everyone would be equal and not judge one another. Since King was pouring out his feelings, he was able to emotionally affect people’s feelings. People don’t realize how ideology plays a huge role in the U.S. King’s idea was that he wanted to talk to his audience first about racial rights and freedom. Not only does the black community have this issue but everyone else in the world does to. He also wanted his audience to visualize that whites and blacks are able to live together peacefully. King was able to touch his audience and was able to give them hope as well. King had a dream where everyone was equal and their was no hate.
