Pig the Pug is a humorous children’s picture book. Aaron Blabey tells the tale of a Pug called Pig learning to share with his flatmate Trevor, who is a sausage dog. Throughout, this story Blabey has used a range of different language to create this well-written book. According to Michael Tunnell (2008, p. 18) ‘If a book is truly well written, the words between its covers are arranged in almost magical patterns that stir deep emotional responses in readers.' I believe Blabey has accomplished that.
Disney's The Princess and the Frog (2009) can be seen as a film breaking racial barriers in the animated film industry where many film spectators disregard the many misconceptions of voodoo presented. Tiana was a poor African American girl living in New Orleans in the 1920s and her dream one day was to open a restaurant, but she has no capital. Her plans are subverted when both the prince and Tiana is turned into frogs by an evil voodoo doctor. To revert the spell, Prince Naveen and Tiana goes on a journey to find Mama Odie, a voodoo queen. Eventually, they fall in love and is married, subsequently breaking the voodoo spell with a kiss.
Hidden Figures is a film that tells the story of three African American women who played essential roles at NASA during the 1960s. Katherine, the main character, is a scientist at NASA working to do the math required to launch a rocket into space. She struggles because as an African American woman trying to get people to give her the respect she deserves. Many scenes show the hardships that she had to go through in order through a normal day. The book Water For Elephants by Sara Gruen has many interesting characters, themes and has many ups and downs such as the death of Jacobs parents, rendering him lost and unsure what steps he needs to take in order to find himself again. As well as a battle with his love for a woman he can't have. Jacob is a very well respected character who holds high values and although he struggles due to always helping others, he always puts in a solid effort. The real downfall is with Jacob Jankowski and his love for all life. Although August is the main antagonist who causes many problems for Jacob, if Jacob didn't have these qualities for caring for animals and people, his life would have been much easier throughout the story.
Verbal communication involves using speech to communicate with others. As the students gather in the library Mr. Vernon, struts slowly into the detention room with cockiness in his step. Mr. Vernon communicates few words to intimidate and harass them in an effort to reinforce their reasons of attendance. From the use of hate speech to the rules of language,the Breakfast club covers some of the main principles of verbal communication. By communicating with an offensive attitude to the students in detention, Mr. Vernon exemplified his understanding of regulatory rules, because the students were in detention, Mr. Vernon is shown to be sure that what he is saying is appropriate according to when, where, and with whom he is exclaiming offensiveness.
Symbolic Interactionalism is the study of things to which we attach meaning are the key to understanding how we view the world and communicate with one another. Princess and The Frog is a great movie, it uses symbolic interactionalism to show what a great symbol Tiana’s dad was in her life. Tiana has always dreamed of opening her own restaurant on day.
The Beast in Every Human Thesis Statement: The novel Lord of the Flies by William Golding portrays the theme that regardless of each person’s different background and characteristics, every individual has the ability to commit brutal acts. While this book depicts Ralph and Piggy as the most civilized characters, and Jack and his hunters as young English choir boys, their actions reveal that they all have the capability to act violently. While Jack and his hunters started out as just choirboys, they become obsessed with violence and are driven to kill. At the beginning of the book, Jack hesitates and misses his chance to kill a trapped pig. Later on, as Jack and his newly formed tribe hunt in the forest, they discover a sow.

This character is in retelling a story from his youth while he is 93 years old and in a nursing home. Young Jacob and old Jacob both have their own problems and other troubles. The older Jacob tells his story of his youth because he feels bad for being old.
While Edgar Allan Poe as the narrator of the The Tell-Tale Heart has the reader believe that he was indeed sane, his thoughts and actions throughout the story would prove otherwise. As the short story unfolds, we see the narrator as a man divided between his love for the old man and his obsession with the old man’s eye. The eye repeatedly becomes the narrator’s pretext for his actions, and while his delusional state caused him much aggravation, he also revealed signs of a conscience. In the first paragraph of the short story, The Tell-Tale Heart, Edgar Allan Poe establishes an important tone that carries throughout his whole story, which is ironic.

Alison from Fun Home and Yitzhak from Hedwig and the Angry Inch come to recognize new potential in gender expression in two, touching frames, yet these fleeting moments are provoked and executed in entirely different ways. In both moments of recognition, Alison and Yitzhak encounter a person and an object, respectively, that open possibilities related to their gender. In the case of Yitzhak, he places a wig on his head and is engrossed by the touch of it upon his hands and neck. Yitzhak needs no mirror to validate the feelings of comfort and delight the wig brings him. Harry Potter and Ronald Weasley formed an unusually strong friendship that blossomed in an even more unusual setting.
