Final Thoughts
Overall, Marvel vs Capcom 1 has stood the test of time and still is an amazing game as it was back in 1998. It’s this game’s success that had Capcom produce 3 sequels.
Marvel vs Capcom is still being played in smaller fighting game tournaments and FGC with countless videos all over the internet showing off matches, infinites, and tutorials for those wanting to enter the competitive field. It’s the game that introduced me into the world of Marvel, Capcom, and fighting games over 13 years ago.

This is not a port rather an emulated version that features online versus mode, training mode, challenge mode, replay setting, and visual settings to mimic the original arcade experience. Sadly, because Capcom’s license contract with Marvel expired in 2013 hence, delisting the game from both platforms.
Retrospective
The legacy Marvel vs Capcom left behind is still one that is looked highly upon today. Released in the beginning of the crossover fever, it was the logical step for both companies to take. Indeed, crossovers occurred prior to this game, but they were first party crossovers (SNK’s King of Fighters and Sega’s Fighter’s Megamix), single guest character (Gon in Tekken 3 or Earthworm Jim in Battle Arena Toshinden), or the license was owned all by one company (Jump Manga games). As a result, Marvel vs Capcom shook the world as being the 1st of its kind, where two different companies agreed to duke it out.
