What Mary lacks to see is that her parents love her with all their heart, but her viewpoint is her parents don’t understand her. The reason being is since Hana knows very little english Mary and her can not have quality talks with her and Taro spends most a his days at the shop so he is never home. In this case Hana and Taro are the people who will do anything for another person. Sadly, Mary feels like her parents could care less about her and starts thinking it would be better if she lived her life and they lived their life separate. She truly believed that if this change was made then everyone will be joyful in the long run.

Lois Gunden was a courageous women who truly cared for the lives of children. She was the rescuer of multiple children from different ethnic and religious backgrounds. Lois Gunden’s independence, and willingness to help children, regardless of their backgrounds, left an impact on so many lives, as well as the world.
Retired teacher, writer and this years volunteer of the year, this woman is one busy lady. Helping out within every department in the American Red Cross, it’s been said that Mary McLintock could practically run the place herself. She doesn’t rest until the job is done, giving each task 100%. At 100 years old one could say Mary McLintock is keeping her self entertained. I think Mary McLintock’s story would be ideal for the Buffalo News Newspaper.

Though anyone can be a good hero, a great hero is somebody who inspires others, makes a difference, and is selfless. First and foremost, a great hero must be someone who inspires others. Ida B. Wells is an example of a true hero.
Robin Emmons is a woman from North CArolina who has given up her career and her backyard to help people in need. “The Scarlet Ibis” by James Hurst is a short story about a little boy Doodle who has trouble doing everyday things and how he pushes through his fears. And Margot from the short story “All Summer in a Day” is about a group of children that have moved from Earth to Venus and have attempted to start a life there, and how the hero Margot is ostracized by her classmates. A hero is someone who fights for the greater good; Doodle, Margot and Robin Emmons are all heroes who put other peoples needs before their own. Robin Emmons displays hero like qualities through her good actions.

She found comfort in reading, and created stories in her father’s library.
