How does Creed create meaning and how is this offered to the audience? Creed utilizes the mise-en-scene to create meaning by revealing the characters, by shaping the audience's feelings and establish the space and time of the story. Creed also utilizes the sound to create meaning by having sound reveal characters, shape the audience's feelings and reveal the theme of the film. The mise-en-scene demonstrates meaning by revealing character through character design. The design of the character reveals who the character is and what they are trying to accomplish. For instance, Rocky Balboa's character design is shown as a fairly healthy old man. This is demonstrated by the fact that Rocky still has a full head of hair that is dark with white in color and has a face full of color, but has wrinkles and wears a fedora like in the previous films showing an old sense of style. The dialogue utilized demonstrates the theme that everyone has a battle to fight. For instance, the characters that battles are shown with dialogue are Adonis, Rocky, Bianca, and Ricky. Adonis' battle is revealed with his dialogue with Bianca that he wants his own legacy, and is afraid of taking his father's name and losing. Rocky's battle is revealed with his dialogue with Adonis as he feels he has no reason to fight against his cancer. Bianca's Battle is revealed with her dialogue with Adonis as she is in a battle with her progressive hearing loss and her desire to make music. Ricky's battle with his dialogue with his manager as he is in a battle of leaving his family with enough money to live on while he goes to prison. The dialogue of each of these character argues that each person his fighting something whether their winning or not is up to the person
