When it comes to understanding Medicare, it can be a bit overwhelming. From understanding the different parts of the program to knowing when you’re eligible, there’s a lot to take in. It’s important to understand the basics of Medicare so you can make the most of it.

Medicare is a health insurance program run by the federal government and it’s available to people who are 65 and older, as well as some people with disabilities, regardless of their income level. It helps to cover the costs of medical care, including hospital stays, doctor’s visits, and prescription drugs.

There are four parts of Medicare—Part A, Part B, Part C, and Part D. Part A is hospital insurance and it covers inpatient care in a hospital or a skilled nursing facility, as well as some home health care. Part B is medical insurance and it covers outpatient care, such as doctor’s visits, preventive care, and some medical equipment. Part C is Medicare Advantage, which is an alternative to Original Medicare and it’s offered by private insurance companies. It may cover more than Original Medicare, but it may also require you to pay additional premiums and it may have more restrictions.
