As I read “ Memory and Imagination” by Patricia Hampl I was thrown by the truth of the story. The first part of the story was how Patricia recalled her father playing the violin and then taking her to ST. Luke’s school. There she mets a nun thats shows her what she needs to know how to play the piano as that was the instrument there. After her session with the nun she I guided in the direction of her a pain to play as to practice. There on the side of her I another child that is clearly more advanced then her own middle C piece. While reading the story this was the quote that I stood out to me. As known by reading the full story some of what the writer said was somewhat fake. Although she was pushed to know the middle C , and that what she was there was a formidable opponent she leaned it, but to my knowledge she couldn't recall if her fathered played the violin after and before this experience since part of the story was fake. Even though part of the story was fake I believe this quote is real because it sounds human not just made up in the brain. One question I produce while reading the story is why was it so hard to remember what actually happened and then why did she fluff up the story. Like for example Mary said that her grandfather invented the collapsible top hat, but in the other part of the story says it wasn't her grandfather but a relative no less. To me there was no need to put this in there do to the fact that the writer didn't know here own memories, but then thats really what the stories is about how memories can be changed by a person
