This is interesting because of the effect of the memory blindness on various life aspects including eye-witness accounts. In fact, this phenomenon is the cause of many injustices in the courts of law. The defense teams use the criteria on unsuspecting witnesses to get away with their crimes. The research question is also interesting because the strategy is usually used undercover through the use of detection discrepancy principle. The phenomenon is subject to two hypothesis, misinformation effect, and choice blindness. The authors have succeeded in comprehensively exploring all issues relevant to the subject of memory blindness. For instance, the consideration of the two main aspects, memory blindness, and misinformation effect, underscores the memory compromise. The authors succeeded in various ways through comparisons of the various phenomenon, misinformation effect and memory blindness. The manipulation of memory accounts is one of the successful experiments authors incorporated in the research study. The line-up identification also underscores vital aspect of the manipulation of people with regard to memory manipulation. The social role in the alteration of memory is also a crucial aspect highlighted by the authors. For instance, the inclusion of a witness in testing an individual’s memory led to substantial positive results. The witness account immensely influenced the decision of an individual with regard to his/her account of past events. In this case, the personality of an individual also affects the ability of an individual to detect any discrepancy in his/her account of past events. The answers provided by participants pertaining to the objective of the research experiment were also a crucial aspect of the research …show more content…

Additionally, results indicate that social elements can influence the memory blindness. In fact, the misinformation effect effectiveness in causing memory blindness is based on the failure of the participants to detect the misinformation effect. The implication of the misinformation, especially in an eye-witness scenario is that wrong decisions can be made, hence subjugating justice. Additionally, the failure to identify a criminal in a lineup is an issue, which also can cause a big challenge, especially for the litigants. For instance, the manipulation of memory reports is a falsification of evidence and the two research experiments indicate that the personality and difference between the long-term and short-term memory have a crucial influence on memory blindness. The other implication is that misinformation and manipulation of memory accounts usually culminate in the subjugation of justice, especially in the case of an eye-witness. The conclusion from the research studies is that inclusion of witnesses in the cause of misinformation has substantial effects on the individual’s acceptance of manipulated account of memory
