The Similarities between Mesopotamia and Greek Inventions.
As civilization as developed through time, many inventions have emerged and has caught the world’s attention, two if the most interesting, being the inventions of the Ancient Mesopotamia and Greek. Based on the history of Ancient Greek, Ancient Greek civilization began in the 8th century B.C and has been traced back to Stone Age hunters. While the Ancient Mesopotamia is a land between two rivers which are the Tigris and Euphrates River, and it was believed to have been in effect in the 7th century AD. Furthermore, as far as art is concerned, we find that the Mesopotamians were involved in great structures and architecture, while the Greeks were more involved in creating smaller pieces …show more content…

The Greek civilization invented Art, Geometry, Olympics, Philosophy, and Democracy. The main physical categories of Greek art are sculpture, pottery, coin design and architecture. Ancient Greek architects strove for the precision and excellence of workmanship that are the hallmarks of Greek art in general. They invented Geometry which a topic under Mathematics. The formulas they invented in Mathematics were invented as early as the sixth century B.C. and it had influenced their architecture for the past two millennia. Greek civilization also invented Olympics, where people participate in different types of sports. According to historical records, the first ancient Olympic Games can be traced back to 776 BC. Thirdly, they both have same ideas on how to worship their gods, celebration of their feasts. They both have priest (like Zeus).
For all these reasons, Ancient Mesopotamia and Greek civilizations has played a key role in the development of the modern world. Without these astonishing inventions, we wouldn’t be able to succeed in many important parts of science, technology, and mathematics. Anything that is created now is just a mere improvement on the previous
