Our youth is way too far into social media and not understanding entirely what is going on in reality. At the beginning Pat Mitchel states “the media is the message and the messenger” (Miss Representation, 8:10), this is a very clear message in itself. It’s not to be taken in a condescending manner but rather to affirm her point. With the negativity being portrayed, it has begun to drip into our value system. Katie Couric “media can change things; it depends on who’s piloting the plane.” (Miss Representation, 0:46) This video is very clear in its message that stronger woman can change the direction on which way our future is going. At the end of the video it even replaces the title word “Misrepresentation” with “Miss-representation”. …show more content…

The main one used in this trailer was very sexually explicit content. After the viewer’s attention is grabbed then visuals are flashed to grab them even more. While both of these things are going on, music that is popular is played to keep the attention of the viewer. These visuals get into the subconscious and guide the viewer on what they are to do next. The wide range of content is used to grab a broad spectrum of audience viewers. When scantily clad pictures of woman are flashed, it definitely grabs the men’s attention. Not only do they want the older men, but they want the attention of the younger men as well, because they are the ones who mold the future. The attention of the older men is to see if maybe they can reach them with a message and change things now. The age range of the people interviewed also helps with gaining the eyes of multiple age ranges. From the teenagers interviewed to the adults who had some public weight behind them. Woman of success who hold higher positions are then brought in to bring the point their trying to prove out into plain sight. At the very end of the movie the word replacement in the title change is a cliffhanger that entices you to see the entire movie. These are tools used to not just misrepresent information but manipulate how a person is thinking and to bring their actions to follow what the media has set precedence
