Many of the songs written by artists are written because of their experience of love and past experiences in their lifetime. Some of the artist's experiences are good but sometimes their experiences are bad; they choose to write about their experiences because they want others to know their thoughts and to possibly keep the listeners from making the same mistakes they made. The song I chose was “She’s Everything” by Brad Paisley because it describes how he feels about a girl he is dating and how much he cares about this girl. There are many metaphors throughout this song. A metaphor is a figure of speech in which a word or phrase is applied to an object or action to which it is not literally applicable. Multiple other metaphors appear in this song but I chose these ones because I thought they had a very simple true meaning. There are many other metaphors in the song but these two are probably two of the most important ones throughout the duration of the song. Other figurative language also appears in the song “She’s Everything.” Hyperbole is just one example of another form of figurative language which I found in this song. The meaning of hyperbole is exaggerated statements or claims not meant to be taken literally. Most of the hyperboles happen in the middle of the song, almost to the end, and the metaphors happen in the beginning of the song. The title of this song is even considered to be a hyperbole. Sometimes girls talk down about themselves and they call themselves ugly but their boyfriend and sometimes even friends tell them they are beautiful just the way they are.
