People take many risks to get medical help in places that aren't safe. Four men were kidnapped on their way to go to a clinic in Mexico. The reality of crime and kidnapping in Mexico is cruel. That was an experience that Washington McGee, Zindell Brown, Shaeed Woodard and Eric from the article `Mexico Tragedy Reveals Reality” by Jill Filipovic went through a harsh and upsetting kidnapping. The four men wanted to go to Mexico because one of their close friends told them the medical help there would be cheaper. Then on their way to the clinic, the four men were attacked by random Mexicans. They were all confused. When police found the four men they realized two of the four men died and the other two survived. But one of the survivors was seriously …show more content…

The reality is that people will do anything to get medical care but they don't think about the consequences when they enter these types of countries. Tamaulipas is where they went and it has a high rate of crimes. It's a big problem how people are risking their lives just to get something cheaper because that can lead to major problems like getting killed or kidnaped like the four men. It is also a big problem how these types of crimes or kidnappings never stop in Tamaulipas, it's an ongoing problem. Overall, the reality of people risking their lives for medical care is really not worth it, and this problem has never been solved or even tried to be …show more content…

But I disagree with Jill when she explains how it was an accident. The kidnappers got the wrong people but I think in general you should not be kidnapped or hurt anyone because it would become murder. I also think that the kidnappers should have looked at the four men to make sure it was the right people (which doesn't mean they can still kidnap people). Overall, I agree with Jill about getting medical help in a different country because you might not have insurance but I also disagree with Jill because Jill explains how the kidnappers mistook them for other people, I think that's not an excuse to kill innocent
