Michael Jackson poetry research essay “A walk through the woods brings a light, crackling song” (“How I Make Music”). Michael Jackson would bring light to millions of individuals in numerous countries. His career would span several decades and he would achieve worldwide fame. Also, Jackson would attain this not just through his songs, but also through his individuality and self expression. Jackson was able to articulate himself through his poetry due to his introvert personality. Thus, his poetry helped to allow him to talk about what he thought about life and other topics. His poem states, “People ask me how I make music. I tell them I just/ step into it. It’s like stepping into a river and joining the flow” (“How I Make Music”). This shows an example of the nature influence that is written within this poem. This impact Jackson writings because it is what makes up some of his poem writings. This is important because it is one of the key components of Jackson’s poem writings. Jackson talks about nature in the poem “How I Make Music.” The evidence of this is “Leaves rustle in the wind, birds chatter and squirrels scold…” This evidence can be shown by what the poem speaks of. It is a place that is not important in the big picture of things. Also, Jackson wonders if we are alone;this is what Jackson is implying when he wrote about “Planet Earth”. “Planet Earth, my home, my place.../ A minor globe, about to bust.../A lonely spaceship, a large asteroid.” (“Planet Earth”). This is of importance because it shows what Jackson is trying to get across in this line of the poem which is that Planet Earth is just basically a speck of dust sailing around in the sea of space. In “Planet Earth he has also articulated the fact that Earth is not held together with much. “Held together with a bit of glue/ Something tells me it isn’t true.”(“Planet Earth”).
