A report on the Mid-Atlantic colonial region The resources and attributes of the Mid-Atlantic region of the colonies are all helpful, and inconvenient assets during the war between England and France. The geography and climate of the Mid-Atlantic colonies could be useful and inconvenient to help fight against the French. One negative aspect would be the rich farmland. If there is a war on our territory the aftermath would leave the farmlands in ruin. The mountains that are located farther inland could be used as shelter for families and colonists to protect them from battle. The harbors, bays, and rivers could all be used as transportation hubs for troops and supplies in order to protect our most useful resources. Because of the moderate climate, the soldiers would use less of their energy during battle. The economic characteristics of the middle colonies could be of great use during the war with France. The benefits of resources include lumber and iron to build weapons. The skilled and unskilled workers located here could be of use to create weapons and tools for the army. Because of the unfair religious rights in England, the middle colonies were founded mostly for religious freedom. The people here would most likely not want to fight for the country that did not give them their religious rights. The population of the middle colonies are people who focus more on religion. These colonists would not want to fight for it is against their religion. The towns are also not built for war because they are small villages and market towns leaving them at a disadvantage. If the many farmers of the middle colonies were trained however, they might be of use as soldiers while their spouse took care of the
