Bl. Miguel Pro Miguel Pro was born January 13, 1891 in Guadalupe, Mexico. He was known for being both mischievous and religious as a child. He had an illness called precociousness, this meant that he would sometimes go unconscious at random times. Through his older sister, who was a nun in a cloister convent, Miguel realized his vocation and wanted to become a priest. He was “popular with the senoritas” and could have grown wealthy managing his father's business. He continued with his call and started studying to become a Jesuit priest in 1911. After a wave of anti-Catholicism came down upon Mexico, he stopped his studies and was sent to a monastery in Spain. After about 10 years, he was ordained a priest in Belgium (1925). Miguel “suffered
