Despite all of General Zaroff’s success, fortune and his appeared attitude, Zaroff is in many ways not civilized. Civilized means being polite, well-mannered or treating others with respect. Well Zaroff treats Rainsford good at first evident by giving him a cocktail, treating him to a meal, and hoping to hunt with him until he says “I wish to leave this island at once”. This quote hit Zaroff in his heart.
The Congress authorized the establishment of a Medical Service in July 1775 (Owen, 2007). The move was to enhance the coordination of medical care that was necessary for the continental army during the time of revolutionary war. Additionally, the formation of Army Medical service aimed at providing expert care to the U.S soldiers as well as their families. Besides, the move made a significant contribution towards assisting the wounded American soldiers in continuing with their missions in various wars. The establishment of the Medical Service also allowed for the training of a formidable team of nurses who had the full dedication to maintaining and promoting the health of the American soldiers, restoring the health of wounded soldiers, as well as sustaining the families of the soldiers.
Lastly Dwyer and Flynn provide logical reasoning for why there were struggles with the evacuation process and why there was poor communiction between police, firefighters and co workers and citizens. "The 1938 code had required that the columns of tall buildings be able to stand against fire for four hours; the new code reduced that to three hours. For the floors, the earlier code had demanded three hours of fire protection, the new code cut that to two" (pg. 106) This quote shows how the bulding was getting more and more weak and unsteady through out the years with less fire protection which means the building is not capable to undergo huge amounts of fire and smoke from the attack. Which explains why the building collapsed just a couple hours after the attack.

In this excerpt from Daniel Webster’s address to the loss during the Battle at Bunker Hill, he talks about very emotional and joyful issues. Because of this he alters his tone to sound loving towards his fellow people by appealing to ethos and logos and giving them a sense of hope. He uses specific word choice and vocabulary to keep the piece sounding sophisticated and appropriate for the situation. From the beginning of the excerpt to the end he continues to use a very complex and elaborate sentence structure that also adds to the sophistication of his speech.
West Point recognized General Douglas MacArthur for his exceptional contribution to his country. On May 12, 1962, the acceptance speech was given at West Point. He began his speech by speaking with the doorman, explaining the difficult labor he had to accomplish and how he was feeling many different emotions. And in his speech, he also discusses how winning this award is a sign of brilliance as well as something to be honored. He delivered his speech at an award-receiving ceremony, which was the reason for the event.

The military is a way for individuals to help our country maintain its rights that we fought for. The person I decided to interview to write this essay was veteran, James Harris. When interviewing an individual of such, who was in the military, I was able to learn more about our country’s history. I became more aware that through the things that men similar to the man I interviewed did in the military, that they have helped improve opportunities in my community.
