Every major character in The Miracle Worker faced conflicts. The story told of a very problematic time. Gibson made sure to show everyone's problems and intertwine them all. He showed us how even the arguments between James and Captain Keller affected Helen's story. If any of the problems went too far it could have left Helen unable to communicate.
