After protesting for equal rights in the early 20th century, African Americans earned the right to vote. After gaining voting rights, women fought and struggled to obtain the same rights as men. Throughout history, women were always viewed as the inferior opposition of men. This behavior is referred to as misogyny. Misogyny is the established prejudice against women. Recently, misogynistic behavior has been present in rap music. Misogyny in rap music has been more beneficial than harmful to men and women by providing them with opportunities for nourishment, allowing each of them to enhance their standards of living.
Misogyny came from the general belief that women have to abide by and fulfill their roles. For a period of time, men were viewed as strong and dominant people. Women were seen as weak and incapable of handling a household. Women were always seen as the person of lesser value in relationships. Misogyny has always been a factor in every woman’s life. Every day, women have to deal with misogyny, but this helps them to realize the unjust behavior and take action accordingly. As the new Feminist Era is beginning, music labels should encourage more misogynistic rap music to be created. This will continue to show audiences how oblivious they were to the detrimental society they continue to live in. Women will have the drive and the motivation to put an end to the disrespect. In the end, this type of rap music will be hated and looked down upon and women will be free to live without boundaries of the standards they would live
