Introduction In module 1 Chief of Police Stickle explained the development process, the organizational structure, and the organizational chart of the newly proposed Paradise Police Department. Chief of Police Stickle will now use this information presented in module 1 to assist her in developing a mission statement for the newly proposed Paradise Police Department. A description of Paradise Police Department’s services and agency divisions will also be presented in this module.
Mission Statement It is the mission of the Paradise Police Department to serve and protect the lives and property of its citizens and visitors which will result in providing these individuals with a greater sense of security and peace of mind. This mission will …show more content…

These investigations include, but are not limited to robberies, homicides, child abuse, sex crimes, and homicides (Leon County Sheriff's Office, 2107). The 10 detectives assigned to this unit are part of the Investigative Services Division. These detectives will respond to crime scenes, conduct investigations, prepare reports, take suspects into custody, and help the prosecution build a strong case before testifying in court (Los Angeles Police Department, 2017). Property Crimes: The 10 detectives assigned to this unit are responsible for investigating property crimes. Property crimes are crimes related to theft and the destruction of another person’s property. These crimes include, but are not limited to theft, larceny, burglary, shoplifting, arson, and vandalism (Thomson Reuters Corporation, 2017). Patrol Shifts A through D will consist of a total of 88 officers while the Traffic Unit will consist of a total of 16 officers. Further information pertaining to these officers’ duties and how they are physically allocated within their unit can be located in that unit’s respective section of the paper. Investigative Services: This division is responsible for all units related to the investigation of the following crimes: 1) violent, 2) property, and 3) financial. It is also responsible for the units of victim services, investigative support services, and forensics. There are a total of 40 detectives and 10 civilians assigned to the units that comprise this division. Further information pertaining to the duties of the detectives and civilians assigned to the units of this division is provided in each unit’s respective section of this paper. Support Services: This division of the Paradise Police Department will be responsible for the maintaining all police department records, training department personnel, and recruiting. The composition of this division will be four civilians and eight officers.
