Some of the heroes that are alive today probably won’t make it into history books or even in a magazine but they will be heard about no matter how small or big their act of heroism was. Picture living in a world where no one stood up for what they wanted or even needed, nothing was encouraged or taught to anyone. There would be no schools no one would care about anything they’d be reckless. Everything would be destroyed or damaged and it wouldn’t even matter to anyone. Giving others support, confidence, and hope that’s encouragement. “I didn’t do anything special, but if the progress I have made motivates another wounded veteran to keep going, then that’s great.” ( Fiege Gale) Tristan Eugene Segers was serving as a United States Veteran when he got his leg bombed off. When Segers got out of surgery and had gotten his prosthetic leg he didn’t like it at first then he thought about doing things that he was doing before he even got the leg. He wanted to be a chef but instead he left home again to join the army. He didn’t notice at the time but this encouraged others with prosthetic body parts to proceed their lives and not to worry about what others think of them. “Sheldon Smith and his group, the Dovetail Project, have helped more than 200 young fathers in Chicago be positive role models and responsible parents.” (CNN Hero) Sheldon is a living example of what the young men that he are teaching could turn out to be. He was encouraging them not to hang around the wrong people because they could end up in prison or worse dead, he gave them support, confidence, and hope. He didn’t wanted their children to grow up and be like him when he was younger, he didn’t want those parents to be bad influences because they didn’t have fathers in their lives when they were younger. The definition of selfish is lacking consideration for others, the definition of hero is a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. If a hero is selfish they cannot be identified as a hero, heroes should be selfless. The definition of selfless is concerned more with the needs and wishes of others than with one's own. “She's got specific ideas to invest in new jobs, to help workers share in their company's profits, to help put kids in preschool, and put students through college without taking on a ton of debt. That's what leaders do.” (Obama) Hillary Clinton is a selfless person, she is planning to do all those good things if she is elected President of the United States. Hillary wants everything to be cheaper so that deflation or inflation doesn’t start.
