Another purpose as to the root cause of the Salem Witch Hysteria is because economic dislocation. Documents 5, 4, and 3 are charts representing the location of thing that occurred and were there placed. The charts are socially stratified. They were separated economically, also if you look closely the people who are like leaders of the village are actually more richer. Document 9 is a photograph of Matthew Hopkins the witchfinder.
In the May of 1692, Increase Mather returned to New England with Sir William Phipps. By the time of their arrival, the witch trials were already taking place, having started a few months prior in February. As the witch hunt in Salem escalated, the prison cells started to fill up with individuals accused of witchcraft. The confusing political situation following the ascension on William and Mary and the new charter allowed for a court Oyer and Terminer to be put in place on the 27th of May 1692. The lieutenant governor, William Stoughton, became the chief magistrate for this newly appointed court.
In both The Crucible and in modern day witch hunts, witch hunts are caused out of fear or for personal gain. Jill Schonebelen wrote a research paper on Witchcraft allegations, refugee protection and human rights. Throughout this article, it mentions the persecution of witches today in communities around the globe, mentioning the flashbacks of similar strategies that were used in the past, doing different types of tortures. In Modern days, recent generations have abandoned wonderful traditions. Rather, recollecting others with distasteful memories such as witchcraft.
The Salem witch trial hysteria of 1692 may have been instigated by religious, social, geographic and even biological factors. During these trials, 134 people were condemned as witches and 19 were hanged. These statistics also include 5 more deaths that occurred prior to their execution date. It is interesting to look into the causes of this stain on American History, when as shown in document B, eight citizens were hanged in only one day.
What Caused the Salem Witch Trials Hysteria of 1692? In Exodus 22:18, it proclaims, “Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live!” In 1692 Salem, Massachusetts, the Puritans believed every word that the Bible said, causing the death of twenty people because they were accused of witchcraft. What caused the panic and alarm that lead to the death of twenty people in Salem?
I think you have a valid point but with so many people accused of rape, murder, etc... and the number of times someone has been falsely accused of one of these events, backed up logs of DNA tests to go through, evidence being lost or getting mixed up with another individual, so on and so on. I don't think we should have modern day witch hunts just because someone is accused of a crime that they may not have committed. Obviously, it isn't a quick process of being accused but there have been individuals who were convicted of crimes and released decades later, some even being exonerated after their death. We should work harder to get through cases, so that those who have done the crime are actually
The Causes of the Salem Witch Trials Much of modern America’s fear and infamous interest in witches has been derived most likely from the profound Salem Witch Trials. “The infamous Salem witch trials began during the spring of 1692, after a group of young girls in Salem Village, Massachusetts, claimed to be possessed by the devil and accused several local women of witchcraft,” stated History.com authors. However, many historians still deliberate how such events occurred in the first place. Based on several presented documents, some conclusions suggest that there was a prominent cause to the beginning of the Salem Witch Trials. All in all, the cause of the Salem Witch Trials was the attempt of Salem citizens to either defend or create family
King James thought he was a very intelligent man who knew all sorts of the world. He thought that witches were soul mates of the devil and if there were one there were a lot more to follow. He believed that witches tried to kill him and his wife on countless occasions. But with little evidence to prove it. But that is all he needed to get the fellow towns people to believe him that witches were out to get him.
Long ago back in the 1692 in Massachusetts, when a group of young girls started to act a little too strange, in that small town, word got spread that it wasnt something medical that was behind the girls acting weird, it was said that they had been dealing with something far more evil. The devil himself. Back then, everyone were avid church goers. They were all heavily invested in God. The big man.
Nearly anyone from the New England has heard of the famous Salem Witch Trials. A year of persecution, leading to the accusation of nearly 200 citizens of all ages. No one was safe; men, women, children, even pets stood trial and 20 were hung for the supposed crime of witchcraft (Blumberg). 1692 was a year of witch hunting. Most today blame the trials on hysteria, or perhaps a bad case of paranoia.
Do you know that feeling of going into a movie theater and just being completely confused from the very start? Unfortunately some movies like to leave you in this trance of 'what the heck am I watching' from beginning to unrelenting end. Even more dissapointing The Last Witch Hunter is one of those movies. Vin Diesel (The Pacifier, xXx, Babylon A.D.) stars as Kaulder an immortal who lives his days keeping the hidden world of witches in order. 800 years ago or so he killed the Witch Queen played menacingly by Julie Engelbrecht (Die Mamba, Frei, Born to Dance) who, before passing, cursed him with the power to never die.
Jake started to open fire out of pure fear, the monsters seem to notice us now. "You can't do anything. . . Not now." My mind reminded me over and over. My body ached for me to save them, give them instructions, something.
In September 2011 a big event happened in the United State in New York City, where 19 terrorists from al-Qaeda took the place of the people that are flying the plane and make the dead of 2,977 people in the twin towers because it collapsed in the towers (www.911memorial.org). From the day on the Muslim people are discriminated because they are cataloged that they are terrorists, they have to be separate from other communities, people don 't want them in the country and want to deport them. “In the “Invitation to a Dialogue: Being Muslim in America” Jenan A. Matari said that many people like her that are “diverse” have been tagged as the less important people and their rights and safety are taken away because they government and the people who are higher than them order it. This means that they were not accepted and also by the government because they

Everything changed when the Taliban attacked. As America was in a state of shock and vulnerability, ignorance came easy, and thus began the burning of Islamic mosques and other heinous crimes against Muslims. This was due to the fact that the culprits of 9/11 were found to be radicalist Islamic terrorists. From the year 2000 to 2001, there was a huge spike in anti-Muslim hate crimes; about a 1,700%+ difference (Willingham). Since these attacks, Islamophobia in America has skyrocketed, as even a decade and a half later, anti-Muslim hate crimes happen 5-6 times more often than before 2001.
